John Eckstein
Managing Director
John is the Managing Director of Advantage and Ci Collective Investments and a director of Ci Global Fund Managers. John is one of the founders of the Advantage (previously Analytics Consulting) Group which emerged through a management buyout from the Investec Group in 2004. Prior to this, John spent 7 years with Investec, mainly at Investec Asset Management as a Director of Investec Fund Managers and Investec Investment Management Services where he was responsible for legal, technical and retail product development. John also worked for Investec Treasury where he developed local and offshore product structures. Prior to this he was in legal practice with Jacob Robbertse Inc. for 4 years.
Alistair Starker
Managing Director
Alistair started his career over twenty years ago with Investec Asset Management (Ninety-one) before relocating to Mauritius and starting SIP Mauritius in 2017. He held various management and senior leadership roles over eleven years, specifically as Head of Operations and Service at Investec Investment Management Services and Investec Asset Management. Earlier in his career Alistair was with Investec Asset Management for five years in Product Development and as a Business Analyst and Systems Programmer. He was also a Director of Investec Assurance Limited, Guernsey Branch. Alistair graduated from Witwatersrand Institute of Technology in Industrial Engineering and then went on to graduate from University of Witwatersrand with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Finance and Business Information Systems.
SMITHA ALGOO-BISSONAUTH
Non-Executive Director
Smitha joined Intercontinental Trust Limited (ITL) in 2006 as an Assistant Administrator and most recently served as Senior Manager in the Listing Department. She has since been appointed General Manager of Intercontinental Secretarial Services Ltd (ISSL), a sister company within the ITL Group. With nearly 10 years in Corporate Services and over 5 years overseeing companies listed on the SEM, NSX, JSE, and LSE, she now leads the development of the Registrar and Transfer Agent arm of the business, serving both listed entities and the domestic market. She also oversees corporate administration, regulatory matters, and company secretarial services, and sits on the boards of several global business, listed, and FSC-licensed companies.
Tommy Lo
Non-Executive Director
Tommy Lo has been professionally involved in the Financial Services Sector for over two decades and has witnessed first-hand the development of this sector over the years. He is a founder and director of Intercontinental Trust (1999 to date), a leading Management Company duly licensed by the Financial Services Commission. Tommy is also the director of Capital Market Brokers Ltd (1993 to date) which is licensed to operate as an investment dealer. Tommy was also involved in the setting up of 4Africa Exchange (now known as Cape Town Stock Exchange), an exchange licensed by the South African FSCA operating in South Africa of which he is a director (2015 to date). Prior to moving to this sector Tommy was the Finance Director (1990 to 2000) of a major local group of companies involved in a vast array of economic activities inclusive of but not limited to real estate, trading and leisure. Intercontinental Trust Limited is the Management Company for SIP.
Farzana Bassa-Rawat
COO, Compliance Officer & MLRO
Farzana is a CFA Charterholder and has been a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) since 2008. Farzana joined SIP Mauritius in 2017 and is responsible for all Financial, Compliance and Risk functions. She was an Auditor at PriceWaterhouseCoopers having spent four years in the accounting and auditing industry and previously worked at the Financial Services Commission for five years as Senior Examiner and Chief Examiner. Prior to this, Farzana spent six years at Century Banking Corporation Ltd as the Chief Risk Officer. Her past working experience encompasses Auditing, Investment, Supervision, Policy & Development and Risk Management within the financial services industry.
Shantanoo Duhun
Group Accountant
Shantanoo Joined SIP Mauritius as Group Accountant in 2023. He has 6 years of experience in the Accounting and Finance industry. Prior to joining SIP Mauritius, Shantanoo worked as Client Accountant for 3 years at Sanlam Trustees International Limited. He started his career as an external auditor at Deloitte Mauritius where he spent 3 years in accounting and auditing. Shantanoo holds a BSC in Finance from the University of Mauritius and is currently pursuing ACCA at strategic level.
Faïq Tokee
Portfolio Manager
Faïq, an investment analyst, spent most of his career in London working for reputable firms such as Citibank, Credit Suisse Investment Bank and United Friendly Insurance, where he held various positions such as Financial Advisor, Investment Analyst and Actuarial Analyst. Upon returning to Mauritius, Faïq joined SIP Mauritius and assisted with its set-up. Faïq studied at City, University of London, Actuarial Science, and is currently a CFA candidate.
Suzana Majcen Jerman
Partner Support & Special Projects
Suzana holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education Management and completed a Master’s in International Business Management in 2021, complemented by several internships in Europe. With over twelve years of experience across sales, management, consulting, and education, she brings a diverse and well-rounded background. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree with thesis based on Behavioural Determinants of Sustainable Finance. Suzana joined SIP Mauritius in 2024 as Partner Support and Special Projects, where she leverages her strengths in project management, leadership, and communication to support the firm’s strategic initiatives.
Vishen Appavoo
Portfolio Manager
Vishen joined SIP Mauritius as Investment Analyst in 2020. He is a CFA Charterholder and holds a Master of Science degree in Finance with Distinction from BPP University UK. Prior to joining SIP Mauritius, Vishen occupied various positions such as Investment Assistant, Financial Risk Analyst and Investment Advisor at PLEION, a Swiss wealth management company. Vishen started his career in 2006 with Barclays Bank, where he spent four years in Trade Finance. He then spent one year at Standard Bank before moving to the UK in 2011 to pursue his postgraduate studies.
Kenny Tai Wah

Kenny is a CFA Charterholder and joined SIP Mauritius as Investment Analyst in 2023. Kenny holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting and Management from the University of Nottingham. Prior to joining SIP Mauritius, Kenny was a Wealth Manager at Chandler Asset Protection, a boutique portfolio management company in Mauritius, where he managed the portfolio of High-Net-Worth clients. He has also worked as an Equity Analyst at Arrow Capital, a family office company and as a Trader at LCF Securities, a stockbroking company.
Neetusha Cyparsade
Compliance Analyst
Neetusha is a Certified Practitioner, awarded by the International Compliance Association, where she is an Associate Member and holds a Diploma in Laws from the University of Mauritius. She is currently pursuing her professional qualification in Governance, Risk and Compliance which is awarded in association with Alliance Manchester Business School, The University of Manchester. Neetusha started her career in Compliance at MITCO and moved to the Capital Markets Cluster of AXYS Group before joining SIP Mauritius as Compliance Analyst in 2023.
Chitrelekha Dinnoo Baurun
Accountant
Chitrelekha joined SIP Mauritius as Accountant in 2024. She has more than 2 years of experience in the accounting and finance industry with expertise in accounts receivable, financial reporting and account reconciliation. Prior to joining SIP Mauritius, she worked at ABC Marketing Ltd and Stuttgart Motors Ltd as Accounts Receivable Technician, where she contributed to improving cash flow processes, managing cash and cheque transactions, resolving discrepancies and strengthening customer account management. She began her career as an Accounts Receivable Trainee at ABC Motors Co Ltd in 2022, gaining hands-on experience in reconciliation and financial operations. Chitrelekha is currently pursuing the ACCA qualification to further enhance her professional knowledge and skills in accounting and finance.
Neeraj Baboolall
Portfolio Manager
Neeraj joined SIP Mauritius in September 2024 after having spent more than 12 years in the financial sector, with experience acquired in Mauritius, Switzerland and the UK. Neeraj holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics & Finance from UOL/LSE, a Masters Degree (LL.M) in International Business Law from Paris Pantheon Assas University and the ACI Dealing Certificate. Prior to joining the company, Neeraj was a Senior Manager overseeing the Life & Pension Funds of a domestic insurance company. He was also previously employed as a Senior Administrator within the Institutional and Private wealth division of GMG Asset Management, a Swiss investment boutique and gained direct exposure to global financial markets through the various positions he held with the brokers/dealers he worked for. Neeraj is currently pursuing the CFA and FRM designations.
Jenny Shum
Group Accountant
Jenny is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and is registered with the Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants (MIPA). Jenny joined SIP Mauritius as Group Accountant in November 2025. Since beginning her career in 2016 at CAYS LLP, she has built extensive experience in the external audit sector. Over the past nine years, she has developed expertise across a wide range of industries and client portfolios. Prior to joining SIP Mauritius, she has also worked at Ernst & Young and Baker Tilly.

Smitha joined the Corporate Services Department of Intercontinental Trust Limited (“ITL”) in 2006 as assistant administrator and
has until recently been serving as a Senior Manager in the Listing Department. Recently, she endorsed to the General Manager
post of Intercontinental Secretarial Services Ltd (“ISSL”).
She worked in the Corporate Services Department for nearly 10 years prior to shifting to the Listing Department to oversee
companies that are listed on the SEM, NSX, JSE and LSE since the last 5 years.
Now, she embarked as the General Manager of Intercontinental Secretarial Services Ltd, which is a Sister Company in the ITL
Group of Companies. The main responsibilities as General Manager is to develop the Registrar and Transfer Agent arm of the
business which is closely related to listed entities function as well as to serve the domestic market.
She has headed various teams and has been overseeing the operations division such as incorporation of companies, advising
on company structures, regulatory matters and corporate administration as well as company secretarial duties to Companies,
both under the private and public structures in the global business sector and the domestic sector.
Additionally, she sits as director on the boards of several global business companies that are under the administration of ITL, as
well as boards of Listed Companies and Special Licensed Companies by the FSC.
